In the frame of the National Libraries Day the University Library of the Eötvös Loránd University offered its first sign language seminar for hearing-impaired guests on USC Shoah Foundation and the Visual History Archive. The seminar was led by the librarian and sign language interpreter Borbála Franyó. The presentation was based on the training of librarian Peter Berczi from the Central European University. The attendants of the very successful meeting were deeply impressed by the reports of the interviewee. Under the visitors were also Holocaust survivors from the Association of Hearing Impaired Jewish People (MHZSE). Barrier free programs are especially important for people with disabilities, because these occasions are able to enhance the public spirit.
